Graduated cum laude at the University of Catania in Civil Engineering (Hydraulic) in 1998. PhD in Environmental Hydraulic in 2002. Researcher at the Department Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) of Catania since 2006.

Associate professor at the Di3A of Catania since 2010.

Coordinator of the International PhD course in "Agricultural Engineering" of the University of Catania 2012-2016

President of the degree course class L21 "planning and protection of the territory and landscape", from 2016.

Member of the Georgofili Academy, 2016-

Associate editor for the Journal "Agricultural Water Management", Elsevier, 2017-Field editor for the Italian Journal of Agrometeorology “section: micrometeorology”. She is member of several national and international research associations (AIIA, AIAM, IWA, ecc…), 2011-

In 2014, she resulted qualified at the role of full professor (ASN 2012).

GEV member (appointed by the Italiana Ministry of Education) for the national research evaluation process - VQR 2011-14

Since 1998 she worked at the Department of Agricultural Engineering (now, Di3A) of the University of Catania on research topics concerning: water saving in agriculture, urban wastewater reuse in agricultural contexts. She is author of more than 100 papers on the aforementioned topics.

She gives lectures within the main courses of the Agricultural Faculty of Catania and contributes to the realization of several relevant national and international projects. She has different international research collaboration (University of California Davis, University of Lleida, Spain, Technion of Haifa, Israel, CSIC Murcia, Spain, IVIA Valenccia, Spain, ecc…).
