Learning Objectives

to provide knowledge on fluid properties and the laws governing fluid statics and dynamics; to acquire the ability of design and verify small hydraulics systems (pipes, canals) and artefacts for flow measurement; students will acquire knowledge about the design of hydraulic plants used mainly in the irrigation and drainage field of application. Surface and subsurface hydrological processes will be analysed.

Detailed Course Content

The course is articulated in lectures and applied sessions. Topics: fluids properties, fundamentals of hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, design and verification of canals and pipes for water conveyance facilities; Measures of water flow into channel and pressurized pipelines
