Giovanni Signorello is Full Professor at the University of Catania (Italy) where he is engaged in research and teaching on economic valuation of environmental resources and conservation economics. From 2013 to 2021 is has served as director the Center for Nature Conservation and Management (CUTGANA). He is the scientific coordinator of the Environmental Valuation Laboratory (ENVALAB). From 2019 he is member of the World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).Most of his research activity focuses on economic methods for measuring revealed and stated preferences for environmental goods and ecosystem services. Other research interests include: economics of protected areas, benefit-cost analysis of nature conservation projects, natural resource damage assessment, assessment of climate change on natural capital and agricultural systems; economics of natural disasters.

Other research interests include: economics of protected areas, benefit-cost analysis of nature conservation projects, natural resource damage assessment, assessment of climate change on natural capital and agricultural systems; economics of natural disasters.
