Antonio Gugliuzzo is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Catania, Italy. He earned the PhD degree in “Agricultural, Food and Environmental Science” on November 2022 with the additional certification of "Doctor Europaeus", discussing a doctoral thesis entitled "Development of new tools for sustainable management of non-native ambrosia beetles". His PhD thesis was awarded by the Italian Association of Scientific Societies in Agriculture (AISSA) as best PhD thesis in 2022-2023 ("Michele Stanca 2024 Award").
Antonio achieved the National Scientific qualification as Associate Professor in the Italian higher education system for the disciplinary field of 07/D1 - Plant Pathology and Entomology in November 2024. Antonio was also recognized as teaching assistant ("Cultore della materia" - SSD AGR/11) in General and Applied Entomology in April 2024. Previously, Antonio earned a Master's degree in Agricultural Science and Technology LM69 (May 2017) at the University of Catania, Italy.
Antonio serves as Editor (Associate Editor, Topic Editor, Guest Editor) and Peer Reviewer for several indexed (WoS/Scopus) journals and is also member of the Italian Entomological Society, Agricultural Entomology Section, since March 2021. He also received the “Editor of Distinction Award" from Springer Nature in May 2025.
