Applied Entomology

The section comprises eleven lecturers, four full professors, five associate professors and two researchers, all from the scientific discipline AGRI-05/A General and Applied Entomology. The professors are actively engaged in research topics relating in particular to the development of sustainable plant and food defence strategies, the biology and systematics of phytophagous arthropods and their antagonists, as well as the study of agro-ecological networks for aspects relating to pollinators and other beneficial insects. The section has five specialised laboratories dedicated to research and teaching.
