- 2021-2024: PhD course in Agricultural, Food and Environmental Science, University of Catania. Research project: “Novel Plant Biostimulants to Improve Sustainability and Functional Traits of Pivotal Mediterranean Crops: Tomato and Carrot”. The aim of this research project is to improve NUE by means of the application of plant biostimulants, in order to reduce some environmental costs of horticulture (e.g. release of nitrates and greenhouse gasses emission), without affecting crop productivity and product quality traits.
- Aug 2021 - Nov 2018: Research Grant, Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment, University of Catania, supervisor: Prof. Cherubino Leonardi Research grant title: “Improvement of Asparagus productivity by means of optimizing planting scheme” within a “Programma di Sviluppo Rurale” project on research and innovation.
- June 2021 - July 2021: Postgraduate Erasmus Traineeship, “Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias” (IVIA): Supervisor Dr. Angeles Calatayud. Research activities: Physiological and agronomic evaluation for the selection of pepper rootstocks with high tolerance to drought and thermal stress; Quality assessment of several lettuce cultivars during three growth stages.
- 2018-2020: Master’s Degree in Agricultural Science and Technology (LM-69), University of Catania; supervisor Dr. Rosario Mauro. Degree thesis: “Effects of phosphorus fertilization level and grafting on mineral composition of eggplant fruits”. Final mark: 110/110 and praise.
