The Characterization of products and means of production laboratory is located in main building of the Department and is equipped with instruments for the biochemical and bromatological characterization of the vegetable and ornamental species, as well as for the chemical and physical characterization of the growing media used in vegetable and flower industry. The main instruments present are an HPLC/MS equipped with mass spectrometer, ion chromatograph, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, lyophilizers, tensiometric chamber, digital refractometer, ultrasonic bath, cold rooms, chemical cabinets, distiller, ultracentrifuges.
