Elective Courses

In accordance with Article 21 of the University Teaching Regulations and Article 4.1 of the Programme Teaching Regulations, students may freely choose 12 credits from any course offered by the University or from any other type of educational activity organised or provided by the University, provided that the Degree Programme Council considers the chosen activities consistent with the programme’s educational objectives and not overlapping in content with subjects already included in the student’s study plan. The Degree Programme Council assesses each individual request submitted by students. Students may also choose from a list of courses pre-approved by the Council, using the University's online student career management system. To obtain these credits, students must pass the relevant examination or another form of assessment.

Second-year students can select the elective courses included in their study plans through the University's online teaching portal during the following periods:

  • First teaching period: 14 September 2026 – 16 November 2026
  • Second teaching period: 19 January 2027 – 28 February 2027

Elective course choices must comply with the criteria established by the Degree Programme Council for their approval:

  • Where students select courses offered by degree programmes within the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A), priority should be given to courses offered by Master’s Degree Programmes, including courses belonging to other curricula within the same degree programme.
  • Students may not select an individual module of an integrated course for which a single examination is required (Article 17 of the University Teaching Regulations, Rector's Decree No. 4502 of 24 April 2009, as amended by Rector's Decree No. 251 of 25 January 2018 and Rector's Decree No. 33 of 11 January 2021).
  • Students may not select courses whose content and learning objectives are equivalent to those of courses already included in their study plans.
  • Where students make their elective course choices during the second teaching period, they may not select courses offered during the first teaching period.
