Orientation

The Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) proposes specific activities aimed at guiding secondary school students in choosing their university path. The initiatives aim to support aspiring freshmen to make a conscious choice that takes into account objective (career opportunities, attitudes, degree program usability) and motivational factors (interests and aspirations), consequently reducing dropouts or delays in the university career.

Di3A, every year, actively takes part in the Student Exhibition organized by the University of Catania. During this occasion, information on degree courses and service centres are offered. High school students have also the opportunity to participate in debates and workshops, carry out aptitude tests, meet guidance psychologists and take part in the simulation of university admission tests.

Every year, in collaboration with the Centre for Orientation and Training & Placement (COF&P) of the University of Catania, Di3A organizes an Open Day pointed to the students of the last year of secondary schools who have previously expressed interest in taking part in the event by submitting a request through the dedicated platform. During the Open Day, professors and students of the Department offer information on the various degree courses and their professional opportunities. The Open Day also represents an important opportunity of contact with people who animate the degree courses.

Actually, due to the Covid emergency, orientation activities will be carried out online on the Microsoft Teams platform.

Di3A also carries out, based on the request of secondary schools, orientation activities at both high schools and headquarters of the Department, during which theoretical-practical seminars are organized.
