Learning Objectives

  • Plant Pathology

    The aim of the course is to enable students to know the plant pathogens and strategies for disease control. The purpose is to proceed with the correct choice of control strategies to use both in relation to the targets and the environment, as well as to the correct execution of the cultivation operations to prevent damage caused by pathogens. Within the constraints imposed by the agronomic aspects, from hygiene of food products, from the safety of the environment and the operators that use molecules harmful for human health.


Detailed Course Content

  • Plant Pathology

    The first part of the course will deal with the general aspects of plant pathology, diagnostic methods, the main characteristics of plant pathogens, the transmission, the epidemiology, the means of struggle and the defense strategy. The second part will include the study of the most important diseases caused by bacteria, fungi, phytoplasmas, viruses and viroids that affect trees, herbaceous and horticultural crops.
