MECCANIZZAZIONE E DIGITALIZZAZIONE DEI PROCESSI PRODUTTIVI AGRICOLIModule INFORMATICA PER LA DIGITALIZZAZIONE DEI PROCESSI PRODUTTIVI AGRICOLI
Academic Year 2024/2025 - Teacher: MARGHERITA CACCAMOExpected Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and understanding abilities: The student will acquire basic knowledge of the main desktop application software for managing documents, spreadsheets and presentations, designing and implementing databases, and creating technical drawings.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding abilities: At the end of the course the student will be able to apply the knowledge acquired to solve basic computer problems and to use the tools and software necessary to write and process texts, create spreadsheets, apply simple functions and automate calculations, design and create presentations, collect, organize, analyze and visualize data, create technical drawings.
Making judgements: The student will develop the ability to identify the IT tool useful for solving a problem and to evaluate its quality based on criteria of efficiency, security and reliability.
Communication skills: Thanks to the practical activity that will be developed in the laboratory, the student will acquire the technical computer language and will be able to communicate computer concepts and solutions in an appropriate way.
Learning skills: The student will develop the ability to learn independently and adapt to new versions of software and features or alternative software, e.g. open source. The student will also be able to use online resources, tutorials and documentation to deepen their skills.
Course Structure
The course is structured in:
- lectures in which the topics will be introduced, with the help of slides and online resources;
- demonstrations in which the teacher will show the practical use of the software applications for some topics presented during the lectures;
- exercises to be carried out with the assistance of the teacher to verify learning.
Information for students with disabilities and/or learning disorders.
As a guarantee of equal opportunities and in compliance with current regulations, students can ask for a personal interview in order to plan any compensatory and/or dispensatory measures, based on their specific needs and on learning objectives of the discipline. It is also possible to refer to the departmental contacts of CInAP (Center for Active and Participatory Inclusion - Services for Disabilities and/or learning disorders)
If conditions require teaching given in a hybrid mode or remotely, necessary changes may be introduced to what previously stated in order to comply with the program.
Required Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the use of personal computers and operating systems (Windows and/or MacOS and/or Linux).
Attendance of Lessons
Attending the classes is not mandatory, though strongly advised.
Detailed Course Content
The course will provide knowledge of computer tools to write and process texts, create spreadsheets, design and create presentations, collect, organize, analyze and visualize data, create technical drawings.
The course will allow you to acquire basic and practical knowledge for managing documents, spreadsheets and presentations with Microsoft 365 and OpenOffice, the design and implementation of a database through the use of Microsoft Access, the creation of technical drawings with the use of AutoCAD and FreeCAD. The course will also introduce the basic concepts of descriptive and inferential statistics through the use of Excel statistical functions for data analysis.

Learning Assessment
Learning Assessment Procedures
The assessment of learning includes a non-compulsory intermediate practical test and a final practical test, to ascertain the level of learning on:
- Word: formatting a text in Word;
- Excel: creation of a table and its chart in Excel;
- Powerpoint: creation of a presentation;
- CAD drawing: drafting of a document (plan, elevation or section) on CAD.
On the basis of the teaching calendar, the first will be carried out during the period of the midterm tests of the second semester; the second will be carried out on one of the dates scheduled in the second period dedicated to exams.
A final oral interview will complete the assessment of learning, in which the student's ability to synthesize and expose, use of technical language and reasoning skills will be evaluated.
The vote follows the following scheme:
Negative:
Knowledge and understanding of the topic: Important shortcomings. Significant inaccuracies
Ability to analyze and synthesize: Irrelevant. Frequent generalizations. Inability to synthesize
Use of references: Completely inappropriate
18-20:
Knowledge and understanding of the topic: At the threshold level. Obvious imperfections
Analysis and synthesis skills: Just enough skills
Use of references: just appropriate
21-23
Knowledge and understanding of the topic: Routine knowledge
Ability to analyze and synthesize: ability of correct analysis and synthesis. Argue logically and consistently
Using references: Use standard references
24-26
Knowledge and understanding of the topic: Good knowledge
Analysis and synthesis skills: good analysis and synthesis skills. The arguments are expressed consistently
Using references: Use of standard references
27-29
Knowledge and understanding of the topic: Knowledge more than good
Ability to analyze and synthesize: considerable abilities of analysis and synthesis
Use of references: the topic has been explored in depth
30-30 e lode
Knowledge and understanding of the topic: Excellent knowledge
Ability to analyze and synthesize: excellent abilities of analysis and synthesis.
Use of references: Important insights.
