LABORATORY OF LANDSCAPE DESIGN AND REHABILITATION
Academic Year 2020/2021 - 1° Year- Landscape analysis: Mariagrazia Leonardi
- Restoration of degraded areas to green: Rosario Mauro
Course Language: Italian and english
Taught classes: 56 hours
Exercise: 56 hours
Term / Semester: 2°
Learning Objectives
- Landscape analysis
To provide students with main concepts required for the design of green spaces and for the restoration of degraded ones. To develop in students the skills required for the design and restoration of green areas through appropriate graphic tools.
- Restoration of degraded areas to green
Training objectives: Provide the necessary knowledge to restoration of degraded areas in view to establish new “landscape design” in Mediterranean” region. Will analysed the causes of landscape degradation, the biological characteristics of the Mediterranean crops and wild species and the sustainable growing methods and techniques in view to restore degraded areas finalizing their environmental roles. Several degraded areas typologies will be analysed in view to individuate technical solution to rehabilitate them by the choice of the wild species in relation to their functional traits and of the sustainable techniques to use for establishing and for maintaining along the time the new green areas and the landscape design in Mediterranean region.
Course Structure
- Landscape analysis
The course includes 28 hours of frontal lessons and 28 hours of practical lessons (discussion of case studies and guided tours, reports, essays, individual or group research carried out by students, educational field experiences, seminars). If measures to mitigate the impact of the pandemic should be incremented lectures could be held online or in mixed mode.
- Restoration of degraded areas to green
Lectures (28 hours) and exercises in laboratory and outdoor (28 hours).
Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.
