Expected Learning Outcomes

The course aims to provide students with the essential methodological knowledge for the valuation of private assets and in compliance with international real estate valuation standards.

Fundamentals of Financial Mathematics

Fundamentals of Statistics

General Appraisal: appraisal principles; appraisal criteria; market value; appraisal procedures based on market comparisons; appraisal procedures based on income capitalization; cost estimation procedures; valuation codes and appraisal standards; the report of the appraisal.

Special Appraisal: Land market analysis; appraisal of agricultural land using various methods; appraisal of pending fruits and anticipated crops; assessments of the appropriateness of land improvements; characteristics of the land and building cadastre; legal appraisals.

Learning Assessment

Learning Assessment Procedures

Student preparation will be assessed based on the following criteria: learning ability and depth of understanding of the topics covered, ability to summarize and present, and reasoning skills. To this end, the following will be included: a written midterm exam; a final oral exam.

 

Grades are expressed in thirtieths. The exam is considered passed if the student achieves a grade of at least eighteen thirtieths. Assessment may also be conducted online, if circumstances warrant.

 

Grading follows the following scheme:

 

Failed:

Knowledge and understanding of the topic: significant deficiencies; significant inaccuracies;

Analysis and synthesis skills: irrelevant; frequent generalizations; inability to summarize

Use of references: completely inappropriate

 

18-20:

Knowledge and understanding of the topic: threshold level; Obvious Imperfections

Analysis and Synthesis: Barely adequate

Use of References: Barely appropriate

 

21-23:

Knowledge and Understanding of Topic: Routine Knowledge

Analysis and Synthesis: The candidate demonstrates correct analysis and synthesis skills. He or she argues his or her arguments logically and coherently.

Use of References: Uses standard references.

 

24-26:

Knowledge and Understanding of Topic: Good Knowledge

Analysis and Synthesis: The candidate demonstrates good analysis and synthesis skills. The topics are expressed coherently.

Use of References: The candidate uses standard references.

 

27-29:

Knowledge and Understanding of the Topic: The candidate demonstrates more than good knowledge.
