Learning Objectives

The course provides the knowledge necessary for the territory surveying and for the management of the acquired information. It also provides the knowledge necessary for the interpretation of the cartographic information related to the geodetic datum and the scale ratio of the representation..


Course Structure

Teaching is provided through lectures and practical exercises with the use of topographic software and tools.


Detailed Course Content

Elements of Geodesy and Cartography. Tools and methods for topographic surveying. Satellite positioning. Minimization and compensation of measurement errors. Tracking and control of the works of Civil Engineering. Cadastral cartography. Digital cartography. Geometric principles of photogrammetry. Orthophoto, DTM, DEM, TIN. Physical principles of remote sensing. Terrestrial and aerial laser scanning. Structure, functionality and application of Geographic Information Systems. Free and open source GIS technologies.
