February 2015 - July 2015. Participated in the European ERASMUS+ program, studying at Mendel University of Brno (Czech Republic), developing the thesis work on Molecular Methods to detect pathogen strain of wheat viruses.

April 2013. Achieved the bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, in Tropical and Subtropical Areas at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment - University of Catania

RESEARCH EXPERIENCES

January 2020 – August 2020. Spent a researcher period at the “Fundacion de Innovación e investigación sanitaria y biomédica en la Comunitat Valenciana (FISABIO)" Valencia (Spain) studying the intestinal microbiota of broiler chickens.

June 2016 – December 2019. Spent a researcher period at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale della Sicilia (Italy), studying the major pathologies of domestic animal, in particular poultry, the comparison of serological and molecular detection of pathogen and the quality of livestock production such as meat and milk.

PARTECIPATION IN RESEARCH PROJECT

2016. Participated in a research project entitled: "Analysis of the relationships between the components of the Sicilian poultry sector, as a tool for managing epidemic emergencies" at the Istituto Zooprifilattico della Sicilia.

2017. Participated in a research project entitled: "Screening, surveillance and control of Neospora caninum infections in cattle farms in the territory of eastern Sicily" at the Istituto Zooprifilattico della Sicilia.

CONFERENCES

2018. Presented oral comunication at the "VI Symposium SIPA" held in Forlì with the work entitled: " The use of organic acids and herbal derivatives to counteract the action of a multi-antibiotic-resistant strain of Escherichia coli in laying hens"

2019. Presented oral comunication at the "National Congress of SIPA 2019" held in Bologna with the work entitled: "Co-infection of Avian Orthoreovirus and Chicken Astrovirus in broiler chickens: diagnosis in Real-Time PCR and histological survey"

2019. Presented a poster at the "5th International Conference on Microbial Diversity", Catania 25th - 27th September 2019 entitled:" The wide range of antibiotic resistence and genotyping profiles of Escherichia coli isolated from domestic animals in Eastern Sicily"
