His research focuses on various aspects of the biology and ecology of hymenopteran parasitoids, with particular emphasis on intra- and interspecific interactions, the assessment of the side effects of (bio)insecticides on host–parasitoid interactions, and the development of innovative approaches for pest management, including the sterile insect technique. These topics are investigated in the context of integrated management of the spotted wing drosophila, Drosophila suzukii.
