Current position: 2006 - Associate Professor in Plant Pathology,  Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Dipartimento di Agricoltura, Alimentazione e Ambiente - Di3A), University of Catania (UniCT).

Education:

PhD degree in Plant Pathology  University of Bari, Italy (1995)

Master degree (5 years) in Agricultural Science, Faculty of Agricultural Science, UniCT, Italy (1989)

Main research activities:

Since 1990 she has joined the research activity of the Plant pathology group at DISTEF (now Di3A) UniCT, Italy and shortly after her PhD has started to grow and lead a research group involved in phytobacteriology.

Past and current research activities: molecular diagnosis of plant pathogens including fastidious bacteria; phenotypic and genomic characterization of bacteria and fungi; evaluation of plant resistance to biotic and abiotic factors; characterization and application of biocontrol agents; molecular plant bacteria interaction and genomics. 50 publications indexed in WOS/Scopus, H index 12.
