Salvatore Nucifora

Assistant Professor of General and applied entomology [AGR/11]

Degree in Agricultural Sciences with full marks and honors, in 1989.

PhD in Agricultural Entomology in 1996.
Assistant professor at the University of Catania, since 1996.

He is working on the morphological taxonomy of armoured scale insects, and on integrated and biological control strategies in Mediterranean agricultural and forest ecosystems. He has carried out numerous tests, also for third parties, concerning crops protection from pests or pollination of entomophilous vegetables grown under greenhouse. Since 2016 he has been scientific director of the entomological collections of Di3A - SiMuA.

He was teach at the University of Catania: Agricultural and forest zoology; Basic phytoiatry; Agricultural entomology; Zoology and applied entomology; Methods of protection of field crops; Forest entomology; Zoology and elements of forest entomology. Collaborates to teaching of the Department.
