Expected Learning Outcomes

The acquisition of the knowledge to manage the nursery cultivation of the main vegetable and ornamental crops. The aim will be reached by studying the main factors and agronomic aspects involved in production scheduling of nursery plants.

Course Structure

Lessons (49 hours) and laboratory activity (28 hours).

If teaching is given in a mixed formula or remotely, necessary changes may be introduced to what was previously stated in order to comply with the provided and reported  syllabus.

Learning assessment may be done remotely if necessary.

Basic knowledge of biology, chemistry and genetics.

Detailed Course Content

Characteristics of vegetable and flower nursery. Structures and tools for nursery production. Gamic and agamic propagation, the choice of material for propagation. Pot cultivation, substrates. Irrigation and nutrition of nursery plants. The main agronomic techniques for nursery plants. Plant quality.
