IDRAULICA AMBIENTALE E GEOLOGIA
Module ELEMENTI DI GEOLOGIA PER LA PIANIFICAZIONE TERRITORIALE

Academic Year 2023/2024 - Teacher: Francesco SCIUTO

Expected Learning Outcomes

The module aims to enable students to acquire the fundamental principles of Geology, with particular reference to the description of sedimentary successions, their correlation in time and space and their deformation. Therefore, at the end of the module the student: 1. will have acquired the elements to define the original structure in which a rocky body was formed; 2. will be able to describe and classify rock bodies based on their basic units; 3. will know the main methods of dating a sedimentary succession and the principles on which they are based.

Course Structure

Lessons are mainly held in the classroom through the projection of slides in .ppt or .pdf format. Classroom exercises on the course contents will also be carried out.
As a guarantee of equal opportunities and in compliance with current laws, interested students can ask for a personal interview in order to plan any compensatory and/or dispensatory measures, based on their specific needs and on teaching objectives of the discipline.
It is also possible to ask the departmental contacts of CInAP (Center for Active and Participatory Integration - Services for Disabilities and/or DSAs), in the persons of professors Giovanna Tropea Garzia and Anna De Angelis.

Required Prerequisites

general notions of general geography
