Performance of a simple land-use reading exercise using GIS software
Required Prerequisites
Knowledge of the Italian language (ability to write a short text), basic knowledge of mathematics (four operations, fractions, percentages).

Detailed Course Content
The course focus is the comprehension of urban and regional settlements, aimed at the definiton of planning tools.The second part include an overview on the structure and content of loand use local plans, including also Italian planning legislatition.

Learning Assessment
Learning Assessment Procedures
Oral exam on the course topics, and a discussion on the land-use reading exercise carried out during the course.
The exercise consists in the production of a land use map and a short report.
The final grade is the sum of the grades obtained in the discussion and in the exercise.
The exercise is an integral part of the course and must be handed in before the final exam.
In the case of late delivery, the grade will be zero.
The exams involve simple calculations relating to spatial indicators and urban planning parameters.
