Learning Objectives
1. Knowledge and understanding: students will gain specific skills in the field of economic and political geography, with a specific focus on geographic spaces at different scales as well as the theoretical and methodological frameworks of concepts such as landscape, environment and ecosystem.
2. Applying knowledge. Students will understand the different patterns of territorial organization in rural and urban contexts, apart from the relations among territory, human action and use/perception of spaces, with the aim of learning theoretical and analytical tools useful for planning, managing and safeguarding the territory. What is more, students will be able to collect, understand and process quali-quantitative data in order to evaluate inherent characteristics of urban and rural spaces, apart from using them in a systemic way within specific local systems.
3. Making judgments: students will be able to critically evaluate structural characteristics of urban and rural spaces, by catching their inherent complexity.
4. Communication skills: The student will be able to transfer to others, with a full command of technical language, information and assessments about territorial systems and related local economic contexts.
5. Learning skills: at the end of the lectures students will have gained the knowledge necessary to deepen and integrate economic concepts with the geographical perspective on tourism.
